• Abdullah bin Omar, God be pleased with both of them, related that in his youth, he wished to see a true dream and to hear its interpretation from God’s Prophet, upon whom be peace. At that time, God’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to ask people if they saw any dream and he interpreted them accordingly. Abdullah once prayed: “Lord, if Thou reserves any good for me, then let me see a dream that will be interpreted by God’s Messenger, upon whom be peace.” One night, Abdullah saw a dream where two angels took him and brought him before a third angel who addressed Abdullah saying: “You are a righteous man. Do not merely talk!” The angels then took him to visit hell-fire, which was folded up like a well. In it he saw some people he knew, but the angels pulled him away from them to the right. When Abdullah woke up, he told his dream to his sister HafJaa, the wife of God’s Prophet, upon whom be peace. In turn, Hafsa, God be pleased with her, related the dream to God’s Messenger (ﷺ) who commented: “Indeed, Abdullah is a righteous man. It will be good for him if he increases his prayers at night.” Consequently, Abdullah was more regular about his (Suh/lr) night prayers.

اسلامی خواب کی تعبیر: سچے خواب نایاب ہوتے ہیں، اور ہر خواب منفرد ہوتا ہے، جیسا کہ ہم اس تعارف کے اس حصے میں دیکھیں گے۔ چونکہ خواب اس طرح پیچیدہ ہوتے ہیں اور ماخذ، مشمولات، تعبیرات، تغیرات، مظاہر، وقت، موسم، ثقافتیں، قابل قبول گواہ، عناصر، حالات، تعریف، موضوع، جملہ، ادراک، پاکیزگی، حکمت اور کسی کی ذات کے لحاظ سے معنی میں مختلف ہوتے ہیں۔ اس کے خواب وغیرہ کے بارے میں اپنی سمجھ میں، یہ مناسب معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ تعارف کے اس حصے میں کچھ نایاب خوابوں کی وضاحت کی جائے اور قاری کو اپنے خوابوں کا بہتر اندازہ لگانے میں مدد ملے۔ اسلامی خواب کی تعبیر کا تصور ایک بار ہے۔ عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما ان دونوں سے خوش ہوئے، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ جوانی میں ان کی خواہش تھی کہ وہ ایک سچا خواب دیکھیں اور اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کی تعبیر سنیں۔ اس وقت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم لوگوں سے پوچھتے تھے کہ کیا انہوں نے کوئی خواب دیکھا ہے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کی تعبیر بتائی۔ عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے ایک مرتبہ دعا کی: اے پروردگار اگر تو میرے لیے کوئی بھلائی رکھتا ہے تو مجھے ایک خواب دیکھنے کی اجازت دے جس کی تعبیر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرمائیں گے۔ ایک رات عبداللہ نے خواب دیکھا کہ دو فرشتے اسے لے گئے اور تیسرے فرشتے کے سامنے لے آئے جس نے عبداللہ کو مخاطب کرکے کہا: تم نیک آدمی ہو۔ اصل میں بات نہ کرو!‘‘ پھر فرشتے اسے جہنم کی آگ کی سیر کے لیے لے گئے جو کنویں کی طرح لپٹی ہوئی تھی۔ اس میں اس نے کچھ لوگوں کو دیکھا جنہیں وہ جانتا تھا، لیکن فرشتوں نے اسے ان سے دائیں طرف کھینچ لیا۔ جب عبداللہ بیدار ہوئے تو انہوں نے اپنا خواب اپنی بہن حفجاء کو بیان کیا جو کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زوجہ محترمہ تھیں۔ اس کے نتیجے میں، حفصہ، خدا ان سے راضی ہو، نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے خواب بیان کیا، جس نے کہا: “درحقیقت عبداللہ ایک نیک آدمی ہے۔ اس کے لیے اچھا ہو گا اگر وہ رات کو زیادہ سے زیادہ نماز پڑھ لے۔ نتیجتاً، عبداللہ اپنی (سہ/لار) رات کی نمازوں میں زیادہ باقاعدگی سے تھے۔

Who experiences dreams—the soul or the self? Opinions diverge about the soul (referred to as “ral!”) and the self (known as “nafe”). Some believe they are one and the same (similar to “man” and “human being”), while others hold a contrasting perspective. Those in the first group contend that the self (nafs) is synonymous with blood. For instance, the Arabs use “Nafasat-il mar’a” when describing a woman’s discharge of blood during her menstrual cycle. Strength of One’s Dreams

A dream perceived by a righteous ruler or governor is deemed a divine inspiration from the Almighty. The visions of community leaders are influenced by their beliefs, while those of servants hold relevance for their employers. Women’s dreams often manifest more swiftly than men’s. For wrongdoers, their dreams serve as evidence against them on the Day of Judgment, unless they seek repentance before their passing. Dreams harbored by the affluent carry greater influence than those of the less fortunate, and the former’s dreams tend to materialize sooner. Dreams of the indigent materialize more gradually when indicating favorable outcomes, and expedite when foretelling hardships.

Due to their innocence, the dreams of young children bear more veracity compared to those of adolescents. This is because older children might be preoccupied with mischievous endeavors and newly awakened desires. Dreams of an intoxicated individual lack foundation.
